Please write an essay that explores your relationship or understanding of gender and use any of the texts we have discussed so far in the course as support (Bennett, Penny and Kincaid). While you may be tempted to summarize, the personal essay is one that hopes to explore an issue or concern. The focus of the essay will discuss what you have been told regarding gender and how this has been told, either personally or through institutions, and why you might have been told this. The essays we have read and discussed will support portions of your position and will hopefully allow you to explore gender in greater complexity.
