These are the instructions. Choose and analyze ONE portrait (the description of one character of your choosing, such as the Pardoner or the Wife of Bath) in \u201cThe General Prologue\u201d of The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer. You are NOT to write about one of the tales. I do not care what character is chosen, I would prefer an easy character since I have to do the following. Submit a 5-minute oral report video in which you explain the major points contained in your Chaucer essay. Discuss what you think of the character in \u201cThe General Prologue,\u201d and read the passage in which Chaucer portrays that character. Pronounce the words in Middle English as best you can. [In your preparation, make sure you refer to the pages in your textbook that explain Middle English pronunciation.] The Text Book is The Norton Anthology of English Literature, 10th edition, 2018, general editor Stephen Greenblatt (ISBN: 978-0-393-60312-5).
